The first annual Matt's Helpers Open was held Friday, October 15, 2004 and successfully exceeded our expectations. Thank you to all of our contributors, participants and volunteers. In addition to cash contributions, businesses and individuals alike provided food, drinks, gifts and auction items for the event. The sun shone and the rain held off. One golf club was lost in the brush and one moving golf cart abandoned by its drivers. But in the end, the golf club and golf cart made their way back to their owners with no harm done and even the last place finishers were pleased with the special trophy and gifts presented them at the awards ceremony. We hope everyone will join us again next year for what is sure to be another great day dedicated to helping children and their families struggling with pediatric cancer.
